The Eusebio Cup to be played today
Benfica are set to take on debutants Olympique Lyonnais in the pre-season commemorative cup match tonight, at 21:00 GMT.
Benfica have not won the annual competition since 2012, when they beat Real Madrid in a thrilling encounter which is finished 5-2.
In the years since then, Benfica have lost every edition of the cup, falling to a 2-0 defeat to Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo in 2013, followed by a 1-0 loss to Ajax, a 3-0 thumping at the hands of Mexican side Monterrey and, most recently, in 2016, lost on penalties to Torino after a 1-1 draw.
Last year's Eusebio Cup match was cancelled, meaning that this will be the 10th edition of the competition.
Benfica have won the competition on just three occasions in the nine times it has been competed for.
