West Ham to sign Portugal U20 international Xande Silva

West Ham are to complete the signing of Xande Silva from Vitoria Guimarães for a fee in the region of €2million.

The 21-year old forward, who can play on both the wing and in attacking midfield, joined Guimarães four years ago, after he was let go by Sporting's highly-esteemed academy.

He has played many times for Portugal at many different youth levels, and has also played in a total of 26 Primeira Liga matches while with Guimarães. However, he struggled for game time last season and was not thought to be in manager Luis Castro's plans, and therefore was permitted to leave for West Ham.

He will sign a three-year contract with the London club.
