Do you know how many of Portugal's Euro 2016 winning team are part of the UEFA Nations League squad?

Portugal’s triumph in Euro 2016 marked an historic day in Portugal’s footballing history.

After coming close in the past, the Seleção finally managed to get across the line to lift silverware for the first time in the nation’s history.

But with sport and success, there's little room for sentiment, and you don't need to look much further than than the Portugal national team to see that is absolutely the case.

Indeed, in just a matter of three years, Portugal's team has changed considerably, players that are current European champions dropped from the team entirely.

In total, just 9 of the 23 players included in the Euro 2016 squad remain in the Portugal team - can you name them all?

They are, of course, the following:

Firstly, goalkeeper Rui Patricio , now at Wolverhampton Wanderers, maintains his place in the team - his position as undisputed number one still intact. He is, however, the only goalkeeper from the 2016 Euros that remains party of the Seleção.

In defence, veteran pairing Pepe, now 37, and Jose Fonte, 36, are also included in the latest Portugal squad having won the European Championship three years ago.

Of the four fullbacks included in the 23-man team, only one is the same as at the last Euros - Raphael Guerreiro.

A trio of midfielders in the current Seleção squad also boast a Euro 2016 winners' medal - William CarvalhoDanilo Pereira  and  João Moutinho .

While the remaining two players are attackers - no prizes for remembering Cristiano Ronaldo, although the last name on this list is one that you may have struggled with.

That's because Rafa Silva only played 2 minutes of Portugal's entire 2016 campaign - but he's still a European champion by right.

That means that over half of the players currently in the Portugal squad - including the likes of Bernardo Silva, João Cancelo and Gonçalo Guedes - were not involved in the 2016 European Championship.

Indeed, in total, 14 players now in the Portugal squad have yet to lift a trophy with their nation - but they now have a chance to change that.
