Ricardo Quaresma reportedly subject to scathing attack from his own club president

Ricardo Quaresma’s days at Besiktas appear to be numbered after the club president has reportedly launched a surreal attack on the Portuguese veteran.

Calling into question his commitment to the club, president Fikret Orman did not hold back when discussing the veteran winger’s attitude and general behaviour.

Speaking in an interview with "Fanatik" newspaper, Orman hinted that the 35-year old Portuguese international may not remain with the club for much longer, with Fanatik claiming that Orman stated: "Quaresma has made a fortune from the club. He disappeared from the team at the most crucial moments of the season and is constantly complaining. The best thing we can do is to pay him the millions of euros he demands and send him on his way.”

In a scathing attack, Orman, who has been re-elected as the club president recently, has clearly reached a limit with Quaresma’s attitude, and it looks as though the 80-time Portugal international’s four-year stay at the club is very much coming to an end.

In response to the heavy criticism, Quaresma took to social media, posting on Instagram: “With regards to the words of the president, I will not comment. If they are unhappy, they need to schedule a meeting when me and discuss it.”

He continued: “Right now I’m on holiday, but when I return to Istanbul I will do an interview and speak about the truth. Everyone else can then make their own opinion.”

Where Quaresma’s future lies is unknown. A return to Portugal, and Porto, seems like one possibility.

Meanwhile, a move to America and the MLS also seems a feasible option for the veteran forward, should he depart Besiktas in the coming window.

Quaresma is still contracted to Besiktas until 2020.
