Shoya Nakajima completes 35 million euro move

Shoya Nakajima has officially left Portuguese side Portimonense for a huge €35million.

The Japanese international, who missed the Asian Cup due to injury, has joined Qatari outfit Al Duhail.

It sees Nakajima link up with Jose Mourinho's former assistant manager Rui Faria, the Portuguese coach now manager of the Qatari side and undoubtedly fully aware of all the buzz surrounding the Japanese forward.

The move comes as no surprise with Nakajima fully expected to sign for Al Duhail, but it will still undoubtedly be greeted with disappointment by many in Europe, who would have felt that he still had a lot to offer the European game.

Nakajima was even heavily linked with a move to the English Premier League, with both Southampton and Wolves believed to have been considering a move for the Japanese winger.

However, that's not the end of the story.

Indeed, Nakajima's move out of the continent may very well be a cunning ploy by French giants PSG, who are looking to find a way to get round financial fair play difficulties.

It is said that Nakajima will stay in Qatar for the rest of this season, before then potentially joining PSG for a much smaller fee in the summer.

It would see Portimonense get their money, PSG get their man, and prevent any breach of FFP.

The loophole is made possible by the fact that the owner of PSG is also the owner of the Qatari outfit.
