Porto striker concerns continue as Tiquinho Soares suffers injury, out for coming weeks

Tiquinho Soares suffered a ruptured tendon in the left adductor in Porto's clash with Aves in the Supertaca last weekend, an injury which could see him sidelined for an estimated 8 to 12 weeks.

Tiquinho, who only came on in the 75th minute against Aves, was visibly distressed at the full time whistle and, despite his hopeful suggestion that he will not be out of action for too long, looks to be heading for a prolonged period of time unable to contribute to his side's endeavours.

The lengthy injury to Tiquinho comes after Porto have also loaned out fellow striker Majeed Waris, who was only brought in permanently this summer, while they also sold striker Goncalo Paciencia to German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt last month.

In addition to those departures, Porto face further attacking troubles after one of their key players last season, Moussa Marega, continues to suggest that now is the time to leave the club, while West Ham are keen on signing the Malian international on a permanent deal.

Marega, 27, was even left out of the Supertaca with Aves as a result of the transfer speculation surrounding him at the time and, with the English Premier League transfer window soon to be coming to an end, such speculation may become a reality in the coming days.

Should Marega leave, that would leave Vincent Aboubakar as one of the only senior forwards at the club for the next few weeks, with Andre Pereia, who is now 23 and has only played once for Porto, another option for the reigning champions.
