Moreirense star Filipe Soares to complete move abroad
Moreirense talent Filipe Soares is on the verge of completing a move to Greece for a fee in the region of 3 million euros.
Soares, who was linked to Enitracht Frankfurt in the summer, is expected to sign a contract with Greek giants PAOK until 2026, the club where compatriots Nelson Oliveira and Vieirinha currently ply their trade.
The 22-year old had an unspectacular campaign with Moreirense this season, playing 15 league matches but failing to register a goal or assist, though his quality has never been in doubt.
Soares’ most productive season arguably came in 2019-20, when he scored 4 goals and assisted a further 5 in 33 league outings for Moreirense following his move from Estoril.
Moreirense are currently in a precarious league position, sitting just above the relegation play-off place on 16 points, level on points with Famalicao below them and just two points above Arouce, who have a game in hand.
