Inter Milan closing in on Southampton right back Cedric Soares

Inter Milan are set to complete the signing of Southampton and Portugal international right back Cedric Soares. 

Soares has been at Southampton since 2015 having arrived from Sporting for 8 million euros.

The deal will begin as a 6-month loan until the end of the season, but will include the option to buy for approximately 12 million euros.

The 27-year old, who was a regular starter under Mark Hughes, has not been one of the key players for Southampton since the change in management at the club and has only played the full 90 minutes in the league once under Hassenhuttl.

Soares has also been utilised out of position on occasion, playing on the left side of defence instead of at right back.

The 27-year old has been a crucial player for Southampton throughout his time at the club, playing 104 Premier League games over the past three and a half seasons.
