Sporting complete signing of Malian international striker - includes 60 million euro release clause

Sporting have signed striker Abdoulay Diaby from Club Brugge on a five-year deal.

The 27-year old, who has been capped twelve times for Mali, scoring 5 goals in the process, spent three seasons at Club Brugge previously, and had an impressive season last campaign, where he scored 15 goals in just 34 league matches.

However, the season before was certainly one to forget for the French-born forward, where he failed to find the net for the Belgian side in 16 league appearances. Sporting fans will be hoping he has put that disastrous season behind him.

He is thought to be costing Sporting a fee in the region of four million euros.
